Environmental Planner

Connected People is proud to be partnering with the Port of Newcastle to recruit a passionate Environmental Planner to join its Property, Environment and Planning team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in sustainable development and diversification projects shaping the Port's future.
 
The Role

• Prepare and review environmental assessments, development applications, and management plans
• Provide timely advice on environmental planning, compliance, and approvals
• Liaise with government, consultants, and stakeholders to secure outcomes
• Support strategic projects under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
• Manage consultants and multiple projects, delivering practical, value-for-money solutions

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Planning (or related)
• Strong knowledge of NSW environmental legislation and impact assessments
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and project management skills
• Experience in ports, infrastructure, or contaminated land projects a bonus
