Finance Manager

Finance Manager opportunity with a Management Accounting lean to the role with a highly successful manufacturer of building products in the residential and commercial space based in Newcastle.

The Finance Manager will take ownership of the finance function and provide strong commercial leadership across cashflow, reporting, claims, payroll and business performance.

This is a key senior role working directly with the General Manager, Director and project managers to align on the financial commercials of the projects.

About the Role

You will lead the financial operations of the business while helping management make structured commercial decisions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being embedded in a live operational business and is happy to be hands on across all aspects of Finance when needed.

Supported by a small administration team, you will focus on:

• Cashflow management
• Contract claims and retentions
• Management reporting
• Controls and systems
• Profitability analysis
• Commercial decision support

  
Key Responsibilities

• Full ownership of AR, AP, reconciliations and payroll oversight
• Prepare and manage progress claims, variations and retentions
• Forecast weekly and monthly cashflow
• Monthly management reporting (P&L, balance sheet, WIP, forecasts)
• Improve internal controls and processes
• Support pricing, margin analysis and project performance
• Assist year-end and external accountant processes
• Mentor finance/admin staff

  
About You

• Ideally Finance experience in manufacturing, construction or project-based businesses
• Strong understanding of claims, retentions and working capital
• Commercially minded; work closely with the project managers
• Strong Excel and MYOB skills
• Confident communicator
• Happy to work onsite 5 days a week
