The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Financial Accountant (3+ years) to manage the financial operations of several Retail business entities within a diverse commercial portfolio.

Genuine opportunity to be mentored by an experienced Finance Manager and grow with this established Group of companies and take on more responsibility and role scope as you progress. This is an intermediate level position targeting $80/110k base ideally.

Hands-on role, juggle priorities/tasks that blends financial management, compliance, and some elements of management accounting to drive accuracy, efficiency, and informed decision-making across the organisation.

This will be a varied role with the very real opportunity to progress into more senior roles across this diversified Group of businesses.

Site -based role in the south area of Lake Macquarie, so transport will be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple business entities
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and cash flow management
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards
  •  Full accounting cycle including budgeting, forecasting, BAS, month-end
  • Provide budgeting, forecasting, and analytical insights to senior management
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience managing accounts across multiple entities or divisions (Retail type business would be ideal)
  • Proven ability operating in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment and managing multiple tasks/priorities
  • Sound knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and taxation
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or similar platforms, along with solid Excel skills
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and a proactive mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
