Connected People is exclusively partnering with a national Australian firm to appoint a true Senior Associate into its national Corporate Advisory & M&A team.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a visible, high-trust role working closely with a highly respected, down-to-earth Partner known for strong mentorship and building long-term careers.

Why this role stands out
This is not a "supervised Senior Associate" role.

The team is seeking someone who can confidently take ownership of transactions from start to finish, running deals with minimal supervision while still having access to supportive, accessible leadership.

The practice operates nationally in a genuinely collaborative way, with flexibility embedded into how the team works. While Sydney-based, hybrid arrangements are standard and flexible working (including 4 days if desired) is supported.

The Work
You'll advise on a broad mix of quality corporate matters, including:
  • Public and private M&A
  • Business sales and acquisitions
  • Capital raisings
  • Shareholder arrangements
  • Foreign investment advice and applications
  • Corporate governance
  • Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rule advice
  • Complex commercial contracts

Clients range from privately held growth businesses through to large listed and international organisations, typically in the $5m-$50m transaction range, offering meaningful deal exposure without top-tier burnout.

We are looking for a Lawyer with:
  • 5-6 years' PAE
  • Experience in a reputable corporate practice or in-house corporate advisory/M&A role
  • Comfort leading transactions end-to-end
  • Commercial acumen and confidence in client-facing situations
  • Experience and drive to mentor juniors and contribute to team growth

This role would suit someone who:
  • Is confident running deals
  • Values autonomy and trust
  • Is motivated to grow a practice in a supportive environment
  • Who wants strong, balanced progression

The Culture
This firm is known for its genuinely warm, people-first culture. Partners are accessible. Performance is recognised. Flexibility is real, not theoretical.

If you're currently in a larger environment and seeking greater balance without sacrificing quality work, or in a smaller practice and ready for more structured growth, this is worth a confidential discussion.
