Turnbull Hill Lawyers is seeking a Trainee Paralegal to support their solicitors across litigation, contested estates and other practice areas as required.
The nature of this work will vary depending on the practice area and is suited to a dynamic individual with strong analytical and communication skills who is serious about building a long term career in law.
Prior legal experience is not essential, but you must be comfortable working in a busy, deadline driven environment.
The Role
You will work closely with solicitors and other team members to support matters from initial instructions through to mediation and trial.
Key responsibilities include:
You might have a background as a police officer or investigator, have studied law (and don't wish to practice), or have experience preparing briefs of evidence, but none of this is essential. We are equally interested in people coming from other industries who can demonstrate strong investigation, analytical and communication skills, sound judgement and attention to detail.

The Role

- assisting in the preparation of cases for mediation and trial,
- taking statements of fact from clients and other witnesses,
- gathering, reviewing and collating documentary evidence,
- drafting court documents and correspondence,
- preparing and collating briefs of evidence for solicitors and barristers,
- researching case law and legislation,
- organising complex information in a logical way,
- providing general administrative support, including filing, photocopying, scanning and dictation as required.
You might have a background as a police officer or investigator, have studied law (and don't wish to practice), or have experience preparing briefs of evidence, but none of this is essential.
